I'm finally getting around to telling this story. I've been told it's blog worthy, but I question that. This is the same person that always had me relate my one joke (Two tacos high) again and again.
Sundays are crazy. And this Sunday (about 3 weeks ago) will forever remain on the top 10 list of Craziest Sundays in our house--or at least I hope it doesn't get beaten out by something more horrifying.
Church starts at 11:00am. The absolute most perfect time. We can sleep in, but not a ton & it's not totally in the middle of the day. We (I sing and Farmboy sits with the kiddos in the empty chapel) go to ward choir at 10:15 am so that puts us just a bit earlier. I try to have everyone ready and approaching the car by 10:00am. I was on-time this Sunday. I was dressed, hair-done, makeup--on. Farmboy in the shower. And the 2 kiddos bathing.
I pull Mini-E out of the bath, get her dressed in her
beautiful purple dress & return to dress the little man. This is when it all comes crashing down on me...
"Come on HY, jump out of the tub."
"Mom, I pooped in my room!" He's so proud.
"What?" please no!
"I pooped in my room!!" even more excitement.
This can't be. He's confused. I have to go check. Sure enough....poop! In his room. On the carpet!
I go back in to
talk to him.
Evidently he got OUT of the tub, pooped in his room and then returned to clean himself off???
His punishment is that
he has to clean it up. I think that's fair. I put Mini-E down & go to retrieve the
father of my oldest! But when I return to the poop filled room, it seems to have spread itself across the carpet. I pick up Mini-E in my haste to keep her out of the mess.
Too Late! Her black Sunday shoes have poop oozing from the tread. Great! Now I get to clean up her shoes. I head to the bathroom. And I realize, I've been stamped by her size 2 poop shoe. Of course the stamp covers both the shirt & skirt.
I wore black to church that day. We didn't make it choir practice.
And that's when I decided that we were gonna nip this poop thing! We created a potty chart & went to work. I am pleased to say that HY has gone poop in the potty more than 10 times & last Friday we went to the dollar movie to celebrate. Complete with popcorn!

It's those kind of Sundays that make me grateful that we only started out with a roll of toilet paper covering the bathroom floor this morning. And that I got to sit & talk to HY this afternoon on a blanket outside under an umbrella.
"Mom, is the umbrella gonna break?" drinking his milk.
"Um, it won't break. It will just turn inside out. Don't worry, Daddy can fix it"
A few minutes later the wind turn the umbrella inside out.
"Go get daddy, he'll fix it." I'm enjoying laying down for just a moment.
HY runs into inside to get Daddy.
"Daddy, you fix this broken umbrella?"
"Mamma, can do it..."
"No, she's Hot! And small---like me!"
I smile. Just before the milk tips over onto the blanket...
