The important things

I some incredible friends. Some I really don't deserve, but I'm so grateful for them.

This girl, knocked on my door last week just to bring me a few things she'd made for my kids. A very masculine apron for HY and a fluffy tutu for Mini.

These are her favorite things now: Tutu, dolly (named Anna) and stroller (from Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday months ago)...and of course, the trusty tattered blankie (but that's a given).

And just an update on the potty situation, we are doing great. Poop and Pee and a few accidents but progress!!!!

Two Things:

FIRST:
Yesterday we went to the store and Mini-E got to pick some big girl panties. Tinkerbell! And lo and behold....she peed in the potty! Best thing that happened to me on a Monday!

SECOND:

This is HY's trick. Evidently there's another thing that he gets from his daddy.

Everyone Clap!

...because this little man went poopie on the potty!
That's right, after many months of trying, HY finally decided to give it a shot.
(with a lot of help from daddy)

Cross your fingers that it sticks.

This boy refuses to go poop in the potty! HELP me. If ever I needed advice, it's NOW. Please, give me something to go on. He's been peeing in the potty since October. But refuses the other. I'm going insane! IN-SANE.

I'm out of ideas.
Can you help me out?

If you can dream it Friday

Yesterday we were out & about for most of the day. First, up in Midway (cleaning the lodge--at least HY got a chance to go swimming with Grandad) then, down at BYU for this, that, & the other. I love being able to go out, but let's be honest...my house is a MESS.
So the first thing I did today (after breakfast, taking on the phone to both sisters, emptying the dishwasher, & taking HY to the potty a half a dozen times) I got dinner all ready in the crockpot. I figure, if you are gonna start with getting your life in order, always BEST to start with dinner.
So, now that I'm wasting my precious time blogging or as I like to call it "documenting"...the house smells heavenly with a hint of garlic pork roast simmering in the crockpot. Whoever invented that thing is now a millionaire! Anyway....here's my post of If you can dream it Friday:

I know that you are all DYING to know how the potty training is going. By Tuesday night, I was ready to kill myself. Not fun! By Wednesday afternoon---all of our big boy pants were already wet ("Mamma, the trucks are sad! They are wet! Oh deeeeer!"). So the only thing left to do was go COMMANDO! That's right! And you'll never guess what happened. HY went in the potty a dozen times that day! No joke. (Thank you Tina for the idea). And it's been great every since. Now when HY needs to go potty, he runs to the candy drawer & says "Mamma, candy!" And we run to the potty. Cross my fingers it stays this good.

As for Mini-E (no we aren't potty training her yet)...she's crawling, not quickly, but still crawling. And in my pursuit to get a picture of those--not one, but 2--front teeth, I got these lovely photos of her.

Not exactly what I was going for. She is One stubborn girl! Sorry they are so fuzzy.
It's obvious that I am one MEAN MOTHER!

Mission:

Possible!

Today we are starting Potty Training! That's right. We are taking the plunge. It's got to be done. The fact that we'll be saving serious cash on diapers is a huge incentive for me. And CANDY is the main incentive for HY!

Last, Nonna came over for dinner & we tried on every pair of big boy pants we could find. Here's HY checking out his britches in the mirror!

So far: We've gone through 4 cups of chocolate milk & 5 pairs of underwear! BUT, he ACTUALLY did it. He went on the potty ONCE! We had a big party, dancing included. Horray HY! When he wakes up from a nap, we'll be at it again.
