Saturday Car Show

Photobucket
Yesterday we headed up to the Car Show to see Uncle R-D & A-Kazoo sell a few prize possessions. And of course, to see things all the cool cool cars.
Photobucket

HY loved all the cars & he especially loved nursing that root beer that A-Kazoo gave him. Photobucket

Uncle R-D has some cool things he was selling. We even bought a little wooden toy chest (a little something to "keep in the family"). Here's Uncle R-D doing some business.
Photobucket

Cute A-Kazoo was his assistant & of course she made the most money by selling sodas & water.

It was a beautiful day & I'm so glad that we headed out as a family for a few hours.
That's what Saturdays should be.

Our Style Saturdays

I know it's been a few days since I've posted anything & that's not really like me. I guess that I've been playing catch up in all areas of my life. Blogging takes the back burner. And suddenly I feel like I have nothing to say. That's what happens when you get out of the groove. So here are a few things that we've done the past couple of Saturdays that I meant to post but just hadn't gotten around to it.

About 3 weeks ago, Farmboy decided that he wanted to go to Blackfoot Idaho. So, we hopped in the car & made it a day trip. We saw Great-Great Grandma J's home & the home that Grandma Suz grew up in (Morland). We put pennies on the train tracks (A Farmboy tradition) & you can only imagine the excitement that poured from HY in anticiapation for that TRAIN. Waiting in the cold for a train for 30 minutes is not MY idea of fun, but it was heaven for our 2 year old.

Then---Last Saturday, we had a great time in Midway at the Lodge with Grandad & Grandma J. We saw a few more Cowboy Poetry events & on our way home, stopped at Bridal Veil Falls just for fun:
Short but sweet. That's what it's been about lately. Hopefully, we'll have more things to report next week.

A Saturday Post???

As per the request of Miss Tina(& I think crazy mama won't mind either)...I am posting on a Saturday. I had no idea I was so popular. Okay, so I'm popular to like 2 maybe 3 people---but still popular. Generally the reasons that I don't post on Saturday are these:

1. My Hubby is home & I'd rather be with him than the computer

2. We are cramming as much into our Saturdays as we possibly can---working in the yard, running erands that are near impossible without Farmboy, & just plain having fun!

3. On Saturdays, I try to get as far away from the norm as possible.

So there you have it!
This picture was taken a couple of days ago when the men came to fix a few sinking places in the front yard. HY was beside himself to see a tracker so "up-close".
Here's Farmboy working & HY supervising the job.

To-Do Saturday.

Things to do: repot flowers, mow the lawn (Farmboy)...
Sand & Restain the front bench
Wash the car (good job HY for not crying this time)
Go to the park with Aunt CC's boys. But---
HOT, HOT HOT....Go home, watch movie, eat, play!

We were busy busy on Saturday. The best part of the day was having Too-Cool B & Wonder M come over & play. We normally go visit them at their house, so today was very special. Too bad it was so blasted hot. Look at these kids--red faces and all.

Hard Day's Work

We had a very busy day. Here are a few pictures that I couldn't resist posting. I love them so much, I may be FORCED to scrap them.

HY helped Daddy today water the "orchard." Think our blondie got a bit sunburned.

Mini E laughed so hard...she was exhausted. Love this chubba lubba.

This must be documented

This morning, Farmboy got up and got the boy dressed, fed, and ready to work in the yard. All things must be documented--especially my boys working hard. I figured I'd document this one with cool paper and fun font. Enjoy! I have the greatest boys in town.

(I'm trying to do better with giving credit where credit is due--these aren't all my ideas people! If I can do it, ANYBODY can.)

We Thank Thee O God For A Prophet

Today is a very special day. One of the most important days that I look forward to every 6 months. It's General Conference Saturday! Hooray. Now, General Conference Sunday is just as important, but for some reason, I've always thought that the best talks were on the Saturday Sessions. So far, today's talks have been exceptional. All lessons that I needed. Elder Bednar's talk on the Pickle Parable is one that he gave about 10 years ago in our Stake Conference. I loved it then, and I loved it today. We feel so blessed to be able to listen to the words of a prophet in our own living room.
I remember when my mom used to make us get dressed up and head to the stake center. Oh--what a chore. Thank goodness, I have such a wonderful mother. I look forward to these sessions not as a chore, but as a great blessing in my life.

A perfect day

Aren't Saturdays wonderful? I love it because Farmboy is home, and we get to do all the fun stuff we've been planning on doing for the week. It's so much easier when he's with me to help with HY and Mini E. Today, Mini E had her very first modeling shoot. Thanks to Miss Parker and her super digital ways, I think we got some pretty cool shots of the little one. Mini E was quite a trooper---and so was Miss Parker. We feel so lucky to have such talented friends.
Just a reminder: Nonna comes home in less than 4 days!! And daylight savings starts tomorrow. Comment all you want about daylight savings---I'm not a fan of it myself. One of the many reasons to appreciate AZ.
Oh and to top this wonderful Saturday off, we test drove that Saturn Outlook. Fun Fun Fun.
