Day out with Thomas

Last year, we happened upon our dear friend Thomas on our way out of Midway. This year we decided it would be a crime not to try to see Thomas again. Thanks to Grandma J we had the opportunity of a kid-lifetime!


We got to RIDE on Thomas!


You wouldn't believe the pure excitement these kiddos had when they hear they were going to see Thomas. I made a point of telling them the night before in hopes that I would get perfectly obedient children when it was time to go to bed {they weren't perfect... but maybe better than they would have been---the excitement was just too much}.

And if you think that HY was the only one in love with this train...you'd be wrong. Our mini-e's face was priceless when she heard that "peep-peep"...



HY was pretty serious about the whole ordeal. He soaked up every minute and of course cried him eyes out when it was time to call it a day. To be expected!

It was a perfect Memorial Day for our entire family. Thanks a million Grandma J. It was a special treat!

So not funny

How long it's been since I've blogged. But I've got lots to tell.

Today I sold my couch and love seat on KSL.com in 9 hours. Pretty excited about that. They were good couches. Hand-me-downs of course! But good. They brought us some comfy times over the past 3 years. And of course, I experimented with them a little over year ago when they were driving me crazy. But to no avail. Tonight is the last night that they will be with us. I'm glad the girls are going to a good home and that they'll be able to stay together!

I really love Spring Cleaning. Wish I had more time to do it. I'm finding all sorts of things in my house that I just don't use. And my growing addiction has been for KSL.com and Craig's List. I just can't help myself. Not to worry. Haven't purchased anything yet.

Last week Farmboy's brother and sister were in town. I know I mentioned this on the last post which was sadly over a week ago. And I'm just NOW getting around to talking about it. But...last Friday, we took TRAX up to Salt Lake and had a great time. Half the fun is just the ride. But of course Uncle D and Aunt Little S made it do-able. I couldn't have done it alone.

Looking at Mini-E and Aunt Little S makes me realize that Mini-E could definitely be HER daughter and not so much mine.

Now, what else have I missed? Oh yes...this.

Proof of Spring. And yet this week it snowed 3 days. Not exactly a good start. But I trust that I'll be enjoying my happy friends soon. They are one the best parts of living in Utah.

Trax, Lights, & Free Hot Dogs

It doesn't get better than that, does it? At least not for our HY.
He thought he'd entered heaven when we boarded that train for SLC. And Farmboy was pretty happy to be out of traffic.
When we reached the city, he didn't want to get off to see this spectacular sight!





We walked around Temple Square & sipped our hot chocolate (one of traditions) & tried to keep warm. And we even got a family picture. A rarity indeed.


Then we headed over to the Delta Center (newly named Energy Solutions Arena) for the Carol Sing-a-long & free hot dogs and a drink. Not a bad deal. We even saw a glimps of Santa. HY thought that was pretty darn cool.

Of course, we ended with his favorite part, the train again.


And Mini-E thought the train was pretty cool too. I just thought this picture was too perfect to pass up.


Despite being FREEZING, we lived and had a great time together.
Definitely a tradition we are keeping.

Trains Galore

On Tuesday, we took the FrontRunner train to Odgen. It's the latest & greatest train in Utah. And the ride was FREE!To get you hooked of course, & then they slap you with a nice fee next week--nevertheless, we loved our little trip to Odgen & back. HY thought he was in train heaven & even Mini-E enjoyed the trip. It's always fun to try something new. I felt European for the afternoon.

Our Style Saturdays

I know it's been a few days since I've posted anything & that's not really like me. I guess that I've been playing catch up in all areas of my life. Blogging takes the back burner. And suddenly I feel like I have nothing to say. That's what happens when you get out of the groove. So here are a few things that we've done the past couple of Saturdays that I meant to post but just hadn't gotten around to it.

About 3 weeks ago, Farmboy decided that he wanted to go to Blackfoot Idaho. So, we hopped in the car & made it a day trip. We saw Great-Great Grandma J's home & the home that Grandma Suz grew up in (Morland). We put pennies on the train tracks (A Farmboy tradition) & you can only imagine the excitement that poured from HY in anticiapation for that TRAIN. Waiting in the cold for a train for 30 minutes is not MY idea of fun, but it was heaven for our 2 year old.

Then---Last Saturday, we had a great time in Midway at the Lodge with Grandad & Grandma J. We saw a few more Cowboy Poetry events & on our way home, stopped at Bridal Veil Falls just for fun:

Short but sweet. That's what it's been about lately. Hopefully, we'll have more things to report next week.
