Garden

Yesterday, we (Farmboy & the kids--mostly Farmboy) planted 22 tomato plants, bell peppers, basil, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, cantaloupe, watermelon, honey dew, butternut squash, & pumpkin. And that was all accomplished by early afternoon. I mostly took pictures of all of it. Here are some of my favorites.

Yum, my favorite--basil. My red sauce just wouldn't be the same without it!

Mini-E had to get in on the action. She found herself very busy shoveling dirt & pulling leaves off of the plants. She loves to get dirty.

After all that, Farmboy proceeded to mow the lawn, plant petunias, another lilac bush & help Nonna with her sprinkler system. He's been busy, wouldn't you say? I can't wait for the products of his hard labor.

Seeding

Photobucket

Farmboy promised me that he'd be seeding our backyard by the middle of May. And....he did! Woowho. Do you know what that means? That means that in a few weeks, we might have little blades of grass shooting up in our backyard. Heaven!

I have to admit that one of the things that I LOVE about my husband is that he can do just about anything. If he doesn't know how to do something, he reads about it, figures it out, and then does it. It's totally impresses me. He has done our entire backyard sprinklers, planted rasberries, grapes, an orchard, and hauled 2 truck loads of dirt one wheelbarrow at a time into our backyard to level it out. It blows me away. I am so grateful that he does all of this AND lets little HY "help" him in the process. Kudos to my wonderful, hard working husband. (can't wait to see what you'll do in the garden).

Back to School

I've been MIA for a few days but it feels like weeks. So here's why:
My teaching certificate expires the end of June. And I have ZERO relicensure points. For those of you who have no idea what that means, it means I'll lose my certificate in about 90 days if I don't come up with some points and FAST. So, I've been frantically searching for ways to get "points." It's not easy. Yesterday and today I was at teacher conferences all day long (16 points) & starting Monday for the next 2 weeks I'll be a substitute teacher at my niece's school(25 pts). A Science Teacher. Did I mention that I'm horrible in Science? So, I'm terrified! But, I'll get those 100 points even if the lady at Utah State Office of Education tells me it's never been done in that short of time. You wanna know what the hardest part about it is?
I miss my kids. Really. Truly. I miss them.
I only see them for a few hours a day.
So, I'll stop blogging & get back to them.

Update: Thanks for all the sweet comments of support & sympathy. I really appreciate it. Just to answer a few questions, here's a little bit how it works.
training/inservice: 1hour= 1 point
subbing: 2 hours= 1 point (not to exceed 25 points)
volunteer work: 3 hours= 1point (not to exceed 25 points)

So, I'm trying to find as many opportunities for training/inservice but they are hard to find. I'll be subbing during the day for 2 weeks in order to get my 50 hours=25 points.

Hey Y'all...Look at my Husband--

Farmboy's boss took him shopping for some new clothes. I'm diggin' his new look. He started working for Guardian Life Insurance a couple of months ago. Now he looks the part! What do you think?

As a side note Blogger informed me that I've gone overboard with my photos. Yes, I've used too much space. So, I'm in the market to print this puppy out & start deleting a few things that are taking up so much space. And of course, I'm going to start making everything smaller. So...any suggestions for printing this out? (without any hassle on my part?)

A Saturday Post???

As per the request of Miss Tina(& I think crazy mama won't mind either)...I am posting on a Saturday. I had no idea I was so popular. Okay, so I'm popular to like 2 maybe 3 people---but still popular. Generally the reasons that I don't post on Saturday are these:

1. My Hubby is home & I'd rather be with him than the computer

2. We are cramming as much into our Saturdays as we possibly can---working in the yard, running erands that are near impossible without Farmboy, & just plain having fun!

3. On Saturdays, I try to get as far away from the norm as possible.

So there you have it!
This picture was taken a couple of days ago when the men came to fix a few sinking places in the front yard. HY was beside himself to see a tracker so "up-close".
Here's Farmboy working & HY supervising the job.

To-Do Saturday.

Things to do: repot flowers, mow the lawn (Farmboy)...
Sand & Restain the front bench
Wash the car (good job HY for not crying this time)
Go to the park with Aunt CC's boys. But---
HOT, HOT HOT....Go home, watch movie, eat, play!

We were busy busy on Saturday. The best part of the day was having Too-Cool B & Wonder M come over & play. We normally go visit them at their house, so today was very special. Too bad it was so blasted hot. Look at these kids--red faces and all.
