Kinda Sorta

Finished!

The stars haven't yet aligned for me, but no matter--I sanded down the somewhat finished chairs and called it good. This project is taking way too long. I'm almost disliking it and that should never happen when creativity is involved. So I'm taking a break from it for just a while. The weekend apart should do us some good. By then maybe the universe will take me off it's black list. Until now, this is as finished as it gets.

I'm in LOVE

Check out my new Bedroom Set! Aunt Runny made it for me. Isn't she amazing? Words cannot express how much I love this. It's brought a whole new feel to my bedroom. Thank you thank you thank you!

Lookie what we've got here

Yes sir ree! That'd be grass in our backyard! 3 days ago there was nothin' & poof---little green things just shot up. Farmboy will be out there mowing before too long.

Schedule

I set myself a schedule about 2 weeks ago.
A cleaning schedule:
M: Laundry
T: Toilets
W: Bedrooms
Th: Vacuum/Dust
F: Floors
S: Sheets
And of course, the kitchen, dinner, and general pick up are everyday things.
I know they look pretty minor, but it's been hard & yet, easier. I don't worry about doing everything, everyday. And that is nice. So far, my schedule is working pretty well. All, I have the best helpers around. Mini-E loves to help me sweep, put away toys, change the laundry over, and clean toilets. She's a mom in training. I had to throw in a shot of her today.

Housework

Since I have stopped working in the day it's amazing the things I'm able to accomplish. I feel like I've cleaned my house from top to bottom (feel being the operative word there). And I've got a few projects done that I was working on pre-subbing. So, I took these photos, these photos & these photos & framed them. I like how they look for now. I think that the bathroom one may need a little more decor around it but I am not sure. Suggestions welcome.

How do you like those daffodils from my front yard? I figure that I might as well enjoy them inside as well as outside.

A-mAzing Mothers

Project H O M E & 52 Blessings: INPO (8)

Last Thursday I had a few spare minutes to check out some blogs. I normally head on over to Tina's blog & just see what some of her friends are doing. I didn't get very far down the list when I found this blog & this post. It was an idea that I just HAD to borrow. So I went to Hobby Lobby that night. I was on a mission to find a big frame & some letters. About $20 later, I had this:

The frame was banged up a bit (but I like that) & the letters just needed a bit of spray paint.

When I hung everything on the wall, it didn't quite turn out the same. I have a few spots that still need to be filled. I think I'll head back to Hobby Lobby today & find few fillers. Any suggestions?

I feel so blessed to have the home that I do. We live in a wonderful neighborhood with great neightbors! I love that we are the first to live here so I know all the dirt is ours.

Most importantly: I love the sounds that I hear when I come home.

Velcro Tutorial

Yesterday, Tina called to solve a few of life's problems. Here's one that she solved. Thanks Tina! I love all of your genious ideas.

Do you have a couch where the bottom cushions sag & come out when anyone sits on it? Well---that's the problem that I am facing. But I'm saying goodbye to those saggy bottom cushions.

Items Needed: Glue gun & lots of glue, wide velcro, & sizzors

Step 1: Take cushions off of the couch (vacuum all the junk out of it)

Step 2: Glue one side of velcro to couch cushion

Step 3: Glue the opposite side of velcro to the bottom of the couch (I just eyed it the best I could)

Step 4: Place velcro strips together! I did each cushion separately. **I would make sure that you are gluing the right side of the cushion**(take my personal experience, it's not fun pulling glue off your cushions :)

I've got my fingers crossed that this solves my cushion problems. You might wanna keep your fingers crossed for me too. I can always use the extra help.

Pony Up

The greatest work you will ever do...

As per the request (& not so gentle nudge* I believe her words were "pony up"*) of my dearest friend Tina, I am posting pictures of my home. We just moved in in December---so of course the decorating is a work in progress. (My LIFE is work in progress). So here goes:

Top 10 Favorite things about my home:

10. Love the new red lamp in the living room. Thanks to Grandma Suz, I was able to get this great find. I LOVE what it does to accent the room.

9. The decorations above the kitchen shelves. I just put the greenery & grapes last week. The plates are from France & the cool clock from Aunt CC for my birthday!

8. I love the new headboard in my room. We've never had one---it makes a huge difference.

7. The new drapes in both kids rooms! Thanks Aunt Runnie. They are incredible.

6. The pictures of my family in the hall. I walk past them a million times a day & they always make me smile.

5. The front door. It's huge & beautiful.

4. I love the strange little things up on the tops of my walls. Farmboy's blankie & my baby outfit.

3. The piano! It was a gift from Nonna. She's the one who first brought music into my life.

2. Nearly every piece of furniture in my house is NOT new. It's a hand me down that I've re-done, re-finished, or made.

And the #1 favorite thing:

The gigantic wedding picture of me & farmboy above our bed. It reminds me of the things that matter most! Family, Love, Temple...
