Split Second

Today I sat down for a minute outside & ate a Popsicle with the kids; the kind that drips everywhere and makes you feel sticky the rest of the day. HY caught every drip before it reached his hands. Mini-E chased a butterfly. Miss Jane dropped her binkie a few times but didn't care too much. And I closed my eyes & secretly wished that Farmboy would be home for dinner. Maybe late...but home. And I'd have been grateful to have fixed him anything. It must have been all that wind that made me think that life was blissful for that one split second.

Just for Today

We pretended that we lived in California and we went to the beach.
Photobucket

it was dreamy but crowded...but what else would you expect from a manmade beach in Utah?
It didn't seem to bother us.

Any Town USA

IT's summer. Finally it has arrived. And with full heat. Well, kind of. We have a few scattered thunder showers here and there, but I think for the most part, the summer is here to stay. And a whopping 95 is about all the AZ girl can take these days. I know, I know--pretty lame. But I guess I've grown accustomed to these cool Utah summers. And to tell the truth, I don't feel bad about it at ALL.

We've been too busy to write about our comings and goings and in my book that's a good thing. Summer has kept us busy with the splash park, friends, picnics, parks, and cousins. Most of all, I love being busy.

Here's a shot I took of some kiddos at a girl's and kids bbq nite. It was too too fun. We roasted hot dogs and smores and just had a great time. With kids as silly as these, it's pretty near impossible to not have fun.

Maybe next time I should take a picture of the mammas.

VA-CA-TION

We've had a great week. Couldn't ask for much more.
We spent the week up in Midway at the Lodge.Photobucket
This time we had a special treat. Aunt Runnie & her family came to spend a bit of time with us.
They just sold their home in St. Louis & are moving back to AZ in the fall. But first, a little quality time with the family.
We had so much fun that I'm sure that HY will go through withdrawals this week. He's already been a bit of a stinker this morning. He used to being outside & playing with all of his cousins, so this indoor-cleaning of the house- isn't his idea of fun. (Mine either but..)

I have to admit that it was so relaxing to spend a week with Farmboy & my family & not worry about anything. We had a few interruptions to our week (wedding, funeral, teaching, & work), but for the most part, it was nice and smooth.

Here are a few things we did this week:
-Tried to hike to Timpanogas Cave (unsuccessful)
-Successfully visited Cascade Springs (so beautiful)

Photobucket
-Went Swimming a dozen times
-Fishing Galore
-Visited nearly ever hot pots in the Midway areaPhotobucket
-Watched movies
-Stayed up late
-Ate & Ate & Ate some more

Photobucket
-Took a million pictures (of course)

Photobucket
And one of myself...

I'm excited to tell you that it's not over yet. This weekend I'll be headed back up to Midway for a reunion. We just can't get enough! Yep, someday we are gonna move up to Midway.

Splash Park

Today I took my sweet kids to a splash park near our house. I never knew that it was there, but now that the secret's out, we are gonna be headed here more often.

HY was very cautious at first, as usual. He ran through the water once & got his feet wet & then ran straight back to me. "Mamma, I did it! I did it!" After a few times of that, his fear was gone & he was soaking wet.
Photobucket
Mini-E wanted nothing to do with the water. Maybe she didn't want it to ruin her new dress from Raygon that came in the mail. Thanks so much Raygon. It's darling & perfect!!

Aunt CC & her kids met us there which made my life so much easier.
PhotobucketHer kids are so good to play with HY & Mini-E. HY wanted to follow Too Cool B & Wonder M wherever they went.

Lovin' H finally got Mini-E into the water. She was in baby heaven.

One of my favorite shots of the day. Looks like this is coming straight from an action film. "Run Mini-E, RUN! It's gonna blow!!"Photobucket
I don't think those legs are gonna get her out of there fast enough:Photobucket

Isn't this the cutest dress ever? Thanks a million Raygon!
What a great day. We'll have to do it again soon.

It finally feels like Summer

Yesterday we had some F-U-N! Since Lise & Big Red E were in town, we visited them & had so much fun swimming & playing. Big thanks to Lise & Beig Red E for making it such a blast.
Here's Big Red E spraying herself in the face with a spray bottle. Silly girl.
If you're happy & you know it.... Big Red E & HY
Splashing! Big Red E wanted to be like the boys so she removed her darling swimming suit. Can't blame her.
Here's HY in the floaty seal. Soakin' up the sun.

I know you are wondering....NO we didn't get sunburned! (103 degrees is HOT for us).

Top 10 Things we are doing this Summer...

1. HY will turn 2! We are so excited for HY to turn 2 this month. The kids, the fun, the presents...and the CAKE. Can't wait to dig in.

2. Spend time with Grandad. Summer means that Grandad Grey and Grandma J will be here. We love seeing them and doing all sorts of fun things. Fishing, Swimming, Eating....

3. Watch my Mini-E grow up: This one makes me sad. I wish that Mini-E would stay mini. She's already getting so big.

4.Fun in Colorado: We are planning a trip to Colorado to see these guys...Can't wait to see all the new babies & old friends.

5. Pictures: I love taking pictures with my new camera & I plan on taking A LOT more. Oh, and of course doing a few fun things with them in Photo Shop.

6. Organize & Decorate: The new home still needs a lot of help on the inside. The basement needs some serious organizing. And we need a few more things on the wall for decor. Any offers for help?
7. Finish Backyard: Farmboy has been working very hard on the backyard---trees, shrubs, garden, grass, sprinklers...hopefully we'll have a fence soon so that we can throw HY back there and let him get out all of his little boy wiggles.

8. ZB Family Reunion: Since Nonna has been back, we have ALL yet to come together. Hopefully we'll see everybody this summer. Can't wait! Oh the fun. Oh the food!

9. Farmboy Reunion : We'll be going to Colorado for this one. Always fun to see Grandma Suz & Grandpa S. The Aunts and Uncles always make sure that HY has a good time.

10. Spend time as a FAMILY: Summer means that we get to spend time doing things as a family. Those are my favorite moments in life.
Oh ya, and I'll be turning 30 this summer. Nothing too special.
