What happens when you mix jelly beans & saliva?

This morning I was busy vacuuming all the rooms with HY. You know, trying to instill some kind of a work ethic into him. Mini-E was throwing a fit so I put her in her crib with some toys. A little, "here, you'll be safe from your brother in here...just play for a while." To my surprise, she settled right down & started playing. Sigh! Vacuum vacuum vacuum...peek in on Mini-E & her mood seems to have totally brightened! Horray for me. But something was perplexing. It was that too quiet kind of perplexing:

Upon closer investigation, I found this:

It seems that Mini-E was quiet simply because her mouth was full of Easter jelly beans! Not just the nice small ones. The big black licorice ones. So, I stopped vacuuming to clean up this mess which consisted of changing her clothes, sheets, blankets, & of course emptying her mouth of half a dozen half sucked jelly beans. I chucked them in the garbage, only to discover a few minutes later that HY was finishing off a few of them (my only hope is that one fell on its way to the garbage & he picked it up...instead of what I assume happened).

Top 10 Things we are doing this Summer...

1. HY will turn 2! We are so excited for HY to turn 2 this month. The kids, the fun, the presents...and the CAKE. Can't wait to dig in.

2. Spend time with Grandad. Summer means that Grandad Grey and Grandma J will be here. We love seeing them and doing all sorts of fun things. Fishing, Swimming, Eating....

3. Watch my Mini-E grow up: This one makes me sad. I wish that Mini-E would stay mini. She's already getting so big.

4.Fun in Colorado: We are planning a trip to Colorado to see these guys...Can't wait to see all the new babies & old friends.

5. Pictures: I love taking pictures with my new camera & I plan on taking A LOT more. Oh, and of course doing a few fun things with them in Photo Shop.

6. Organize & Decorate: The new home still needs a lot of help on the inside. The basement needs some serious organizing. And we need a few more things on the wall for decor. Any offers for help?
7. Finish Backyard: Farmboy has been working very hard on the backyard---trees, shrubs, garden, grass, sprinklers...hopefully we'll have a fence soon so that we can throw HY back there and let him get out all of his little boy wiggles.

8. ZB Family Reunion: Since Nonna has been back, we have ALL yet to come together. Hopefully we'll see everybody this summer. Can't wait! Oh the fun. Oh the food!

9. Farmboy Reunion : We'll be going to Colorado for this one. Always fun to see Grandma Suz & Grandpa S. The Aunts and Uncles always make sure that HY has a good time.

10. Spend time as a FAMILY: Summer means that we get to spend time doing things as a family. Those are my favorite moments in life.
Oh ya, and I'll be turning 30 this summer. Nothing too special.

Was & Now

This was my garage this morning:
(I'm almost embarrassed to show these pictures)

And Now.....Voila!
Wish I could have waved a magic wand & "poof" had it all spick-n-span. But alas, I had to move each individual item myself. It's not what I would like, but this is all I could do while my kiddos were taking a nap. Perhaps I'll finish it up later this week.

Here's my cleaning closet BEFORE/AFTER.
Not bad, huh? Sadly, I don't feel like I accomplished very much today. That's the way it goes.

Today...

I cleaned out my car and ...the linen closet. It's amazing what a little motivation from your friends will do.

Then, HY and I prepared our 2 cases of strawberries for the freezer. I love his face..."WOW" is right! That's not even half of the strawberries.
