I'm a Bread maker---I make Bread on my first try...

Okay, this may not look beautiful to anyone else but me, but this bread is INCREDIBLE. I had to have a taste before dinner tonight and ..........WOWZERS. It took me back to Italy with just one taste. Amazing! Thank you thank you thank you Aidsy---this bread has changed my life! And you wanna know the best part. It was EASY! I used my crockpot in the oven (which by the way the lid handle melted--so I had to change out lids). But really, minimal damage for such a work of art! Seriously, I'm gonna have to mail a loaf to you Tina. You'll be in heaven.

I'm making this thing EVERY week. I may gain 30lbs, but I'm doing it!

Here's that recipe one more time! You won't be sorry.

How's it coming...

Step 2: Fold dough over a few times (took about 30 sec)

Step3: Shape & cover with cloth (cloth not shown)

Rise to the occasion

Okay, so occasionally, I will bake.
Actually, RARELY, I will bake.
But my friend, Aidsy, recommended this recipe to me.
So, I thought I'd give it a shot.
I mean for crying out loud, it says that an 8 year old can do it. Why not me?
This is No Kneading Italian Bread (or at least that's what I'm hoping for).

Step 1 is complete!

Stay tuned for the finished product.

If you can dream/imagine it Friday

Most of you know that my son doesn't look a thing like me. Generally, all I hear is how he's a mini Farmboy. It's true! But I know that he's mine. I didn't have proof of this until today when I saw this:
Yep! That's right, he's organized his eaten Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich. I had to call Farmboy in for a 2nd opinon. He agreed that this trait was DEFINITELY one of mine. So there you go!
Proof that this kid has a bit of me after all. Imagine that!

A mother's work is NEVER done

Sorry about yesterday's late posts. I was doing a bit of this again. Only this time it was less squash & more pears & apples. Won't Mini-E be so pleased? All this was accomplish while watching this {{one of my absolute favorites}}. Today, I did the dishes, made Grandma Suz' Oatmeal Pancakes for breakfast, vacuumed, mowed the lawn (this isn't my normal chore, Farmboy has been very busy with work & school--I thought I'd help him out), more laundry, read books to the kids, & now it's nap time. Not for me, but for the little people. Maybe I'll get a bit of scrapbooking done today. We'll see if I'm feeling creative enough.
And to answer CrazyMamma's question: Yes, I am totally trying to make the AZ people jealous by displaying the awesome Fall colors. And Fall clothing is similar to AZ winter clothing...except that you actually leave it on most of the day. Winter clothing is actually wearing sweaters with COATS over the top. BIG HEAVY Coats. Oh, & we wear scarves & hats for warmth not just for fashion. Does that answer your question?

The overachieving mother

I believe that I should get the "mother of the day" award! Why you may ask? Because I turned this...into this...Yep folks that's right. BABY FOOD. Homemade, Gormet Baby Food!(thunderous applauding). Thank you, thank you very much! I'd like to thank my own mother who grew such a wonderful garden this year (since we did not) & donated a beautiful crop to make this baby food possible. Mini-E thanks you as well.

I had this for lunch....

Yep, that's right. Icecream! Now, I didn't consume all of these, but I did have a generous bowl of Dreyer's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. I have but one person to blame for my love of icecream. My Mother!
As a kid, you couldn't find a single thing in our house to eat. Seriously, our fridge was full of vegetables, old whole milk, and condiments of every kind. You couldn't find anything practical, fast---and more importantly---desirable to a kid. I don't think that a box of Mac n' Cheese EVER presented itself at my mom's house (& you'd be hard pressed to find one at my house now). Sugar cereal? Ya right! If you wanted crackers...they were whole wheat! My dear sweet mother was a good, nutritious-conscious person. Here's the funny part: We ALWAYS had a gallon or two of ICECREAM in the freezer. Not just any cheap kind either--it had to be Dreyer's or Breyer's..."The Natural Stuff." So there you have it. I guess this would explain why I don't like to hassel with food in general. If I'm gonna go to the trouble to eat---it better be the good stuff.

Eat Up

About a month ago, I gave Mini-E her first taste of the "real" stuff (if you can call rice cereal "real") & she LOVED it, to say the least. Due to my laziness, she still only gets one feeding of rice cereal a day (most days). You should hear this girl---she can hardly contain herself, I literally have to hold her hands down. She's not messing around.

Mini-E *hearts* real food!

Mini-E can't get enough of this rice cereal. On Monday, I thought I'd give her a taste of rice cereal. She went to town! She ended up grabbing the spoon from me & shoving the food in her mouth. Slow down -Girl! (It's no wonder why she's over 14 lbs)

Dine O' Round

Every year at this time, downtown has a bunch of cool restaurants that offer a 3 course meal for $15- $25 per person. It's quite the deal if you've ever been to some of these places. It's a great way to try some new food and have a date night with your sweety. Farmboy and I plan on going every year, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Cross your figers that we get to go this year.

My choice is always Settebello. mmmmmmmmmmmmm. I love that place. I'd go every week if I could.
