Windy Easter

This Easter was very low key. It sort of snuck up on us. But we did head to a the local Eater Egg hunt and got a few things to put in our baskets. It was windy and cold, so we didn't hang out for too long. This was our kids first hunt so they didn't realize that speed was of the essence. Only a few eggs and candies and we were done.

I snapped a shot of them checking out their loot. They look like little homeless kids.

Then we headed to a baptism. Too Cool B was the star of the show. I love it when my kiddos get to see their cousins baptized. It makes all the things we teach at home come more alive. Photobucket

Easter Goodies

Everyone has Easter traditions. Our's are probably no different than most everyone's. We spend time with family. We have a delicious meal. We have an Easter egg hunt. The girls get new dresses. And the kids eat an unusually large amount of candy and it shows in church. That was about the gist of our day.

HY & Mini-E looked through their baskets from the Easter Bunny & got "hopped" up on candy BEFORE breakfast even started. This year I started a new tradition. The Easter Bunny brings books for the kids. Something about Spring or God, or Christ. I think it's a good tradition to start.

After wrestling with the kids during church, we headed over to Aunt Lala's house for some family time & dinner. Farmboy created a fruit platter that was exquisite. After dinner, we hunted for eggs. HY went with Farmboy & Mini-E was taken care of by Lovin' H. I was so surprised how quickly Mini-E picked up the hunting for eggs thing. She was all over that. Next year, she won't even need a helper.

Egg-cited

Since Sunday is Easter, we just had to get down and do some hard work today. We spent the hour before lunch dyeing Easter eggs. I didn't think that I was going to do this this year because it really difficult to do with 2 small children. But Aunt CC & Nonna came over with the kids & they made it more than do-able. They made it ENJOYABLE. And I'm pretty sure that's the way it's supposed to be. HY thought it was the best. And Aunt CC waited on him hand & foot (which he loves). We are so egg-cited for the big day.

She's official

Mini E is now official on the records of the church. Yesterday was not only special because of Easter---but because Mini E was blessed. She was so beautiful in the dress that Aunt Runnie made for her. (Thank you Runnie). She slept thru the entire thing. Farmboy gave her a very beautiful blessing as well. There were lots of family and friends there to enjoy this special day. After church, we went to Aunt CC's house and had dinner and an Easter hunt(with about 500 eggs).
